Sea Food in Bukit Tambun, Penang

Sorry for that long M.I.A....I was away to Penang during the Raya Holiday...meet up my brothers and parents (travel from Perlis). It's nice to spend my holiday with my beloved family. On the eve of Syawal 1, we went to a seafood restaurant in Bukit Tambun (mostly known as Tambun). Bukit Tambun is located near to the sea. So that's why it's famous with the seafood. There're several seafood restaurant but Bro introduced this particular restaurant. He tried before and there we go~!!!

Restaurant Fish Village...There's the result of photo taken by a low quality handphone camera...

Departed from Bukit Mertajam (B.M.) town around 7.15pm. That time most of the Muslims were preparing to break fast. So we had a smooth journey to the destination. It took approximately 30 minutes. By that time, it's already a lot of people there. So we thought that we have to take a long time to wait.

Out of expectation, the food was ready to be served after 15 minutes.

Sweet potato leaves (fan shu ye) - RM6.00

Kangkung Belacan (ma lai feng guang) - RM6.00

A bigger type of lala - RM 10.00

Crabs (2 meat crabs + 2 egg crabs) fried with Kam Heong - RM54.00

Some may find it difficult to eat...

But with this, there isn't any problem...

The fish with tomyam-like gravy - Rm20.00

The gravy is sour with enough of spice. It totally appetizing. Tasted the gravy while it's hot make it even nicer.

Overall, the dishes is nice. The taste is great and delicious. It's worth for 2nd and more and more visit. Somemore, the food is cheap. The Ringgit is worth for it...

For 5 persons, 7 plates of rice + 5 dishes + a jug of Herbal Tea + 2 plates of nuts = RM 109.60

Overall rating would be 8.5/10...

For those who wanna try on it, the location would be :

No. 1, Jalan Besar, Bukit Tambun, 14110 SImpng Ampat, Seberang Prai Selatan

Tel : 04-5872148

Enjoy your meal~!!!

5th Anniversary Bookfest @ Malaysia 2010

Reading is a good habit that we should have. It is the key of knowledge and it really enriches us much. However, since young I doesn't have much interest in reading. I am ought to read just to cope with my exam and test. During my high school life, I was forced to read novel by SOMEONE. YES!!! The word "forced" was used correctly. That time I didn't like it much. But being "kind" to me, she asked me to read page by page. Then the next day she wanted me to briefly tell her about the story. Sometimes I even need to need from chapter to chapter. (A novel has a few chapters). At last, she gave up. I felt like god-forsaken.

However, several years, I adopted reading as one of my habits naturally. At that point, I was fortunate because I used to be "forced" of reading before. And now, I could take up the books by myself and browse them and even read them from cover to cover. Thanks for the force I could say...

Knowing that the 5th Anniversary Bookfest @ Malaysia 2010 is happening at KLCC from 4th till 12th of September, I take this opportunity to have a look.

This bookfest has been started since 2006 and in every year, there's different theme....

2006 : Read to Learn

2007 : Joy in Reading

2008 : Reading Empowers

2009 : Reading is Inspiring

2010 : Reading Embraces the World.

So here I am at the 5th Anniversary Bookfest @ Malaysia 2010.

Get myself a ticket for RM2.00. It's nothing worth than this.

The main entrance.

A lot of people is in the book fest too...

There's a lot choices of books in there. Just dunno where I should start. At last I spent 6 hours there. I got 4 books without paying more than RM100.00. It's totally cheap. I was satisfied too coz I read 2 books in the fest and I didn't buy for the 2 books. *kiamsiap*

Besides, there's some talk from invited guest to share about their books and talk about a lot of things like health, lifestyle and etc.

For those who haven't been there, don't miss the chance~!!!

This is the photo that I have submitted for contest.

Actually I am not that sure whether my skin is moist enough or not? But I am quite satisfied with my skin. What I know is my mother likes it so much.

She always says to me "Aiyo, you should be a girl one la. Look at your skin. If you were a girl, you will look fair and nice. Many many boyfriends one la..."
My expression will always be the same. =.=!!! and in my heart "Mum, you always says like I have a choice..."

From outside, my skin looks good for me. But I totally have no idea about inside. Is my skin healthy? Is my skin fresh? my skin enough of vitamin? Is my skin moist enough?

When I am traveling with friends, they will notice that I don't apply any lotion or skin products on my skin. With full of question marks, they will ask me. Then I will always tell them that I like to keep it natural.
Then they will tell me " Wah! Cannot like that la. You have to take care your skin la. Your skin is exposed to the sunlight la, UV light la, unhealthy air in your surrounding la....bla bla..."

OK~!!!I surrender. But what should I apply on my skin? I have totally no idea...

Vaseline, Would you like to lend me a hand and help me to solve this???

Thank you~!!!

I am back to my hometown-Perlis. A place where everything is good for me except internet line is not available anymore at my house. Mum found that paying Rm77 per month without being fully utilized is considered as a waste. So she decided to unsubscribe the internet service. Being addicted to OSK Investment Challenge (OSKIC), I have to go to the library (during day time) and CC (during night time) for internet access. Anyhow, life is great when you are back to the place you are used to be. Memory with those lovely people will flash back in your mind. Enjoy life here ^^

Nuffnang always gives out various surprise to its loyal bloggers. Therefore, no loss to support Nuffnang. It goes same to me.

I was invited to a Buka Puasa Session with the other 24 bloggers at The Apartment, KLCC tomorrow. Yes! I do not have to be fasting and of course I don't have to wait till 'buka puasa' to eat/drink and still I was invited. Thanks a lot. I do appreciate it. But I am sorry that I can't make it.

Sometimes, I see even greater 1Malaysia spirit in Nuffnang/blogger community than those who really initiated and carry out it. Talking about 1 Malaysia, this phrase can be heard everywhere especially during the speech. The National Day is just over and Happy 53th Birthday to Malaysia. There're many video circulating in facebook and incidents happened that would make some people in Malaysia disappointed esp towards the 1 Malaysia concept. But deep in me, I would vote for a YES for harmony. We don't need a '1 Malaysia' to be a truly united country. Sometimes, this spirit can be seen even more obvious in a small place like Perlis. In a nutshell, proud to be a Malaysia.

Nasi Lemak in Taman Sea, Petaling Jaya

I always notice that the mamak at Taman Sea, Petaling Jaya is always crowded with people.

Most of them are youngsters.

So plan to have a try on it. When I reach there, i notice that on the dining table, the only food I can see are nasi lemak and Indo mee goreng. I think these 2 food is a must-try-food. Then only I realize, that mamak stall only serve these 2 food. Nasi lemak ayam/kambing, Indo mee goreng and otak-otak. I was kind of amazing. With this short of menu, the tables are still always that full.

Signature food at the mamak -> Nasi Lemak Ayam

The sambal is nice with the delicious fried chicken. Beside, u can get extra ikan bilis with kacang and sambal from them.

Another dish is curry kambing (Mutton curry). The dish is nice as well.

For the Indo mee goreng, it's kind of normal for me. Nothing really special. It's just like the instant mee goreng that we can get in the supermarket and prepare at home.

Hot otak-otak would add up the appetite....^^

The mamak stall is easy to be found....

It's at Taman Sea. From Jalan University (from Jaya One). Go ahead until you reach a roundabout, then take the 12 o'clock turn. Take the 1st turning to the right which is after the The Otomotif College (TOC). Go ahead until u reach a traffic light T-junction. A Shell petrol station can be seen on your right corner. Turn right and immediate turn left in front of CIMB. Go ahead and you can see tables and chairs in front of Maybank. That's it~!

Petaling Street and Central Market

Not long ago, I drove myself to Petaling Street. There I would get the cheapest convocation flowers in town mainly because there're several flower shops in a row. Competition makes a more quality and quantity deal. Managed to reach there around 5.30pm and the time seems not that suitable especial during Ramadhan month. Several road entries were blocked for Bazaar Ramadhan and I found no way for me to go in. After several U-turns, I drove in the parking lots in Central Market, a place I always heard but never stepped into. Screw the parking fees~!!! There's more important mission that I need to complete.

This building is older than me 100 years. Still it looks great. Not sure whether I can survive till 122 years old ot not. But this building has managed to.

Once I stepped into Petaling Street, can't stop myself from thinking about the Petaling Street Ikan Bakar. So basically my plan would be like this...

From Central Market, I walked to Petaling Street -> Eat ikan bakar ->Buy flowers ->Walk back Central Market. Deal~!!! Eating is the priority...

The combination of ikan pari-pari, lal and sotong at the smallest size cost me RM9.00...it's more than worth for me bcoz I can taste 3 kinds of seafood...

The gravy is superb and spicy...totally appetizing...2 plates of rice would only be sufficient....

After the meal, I hunted for water in no delay. With my whole body drenched by perspiration, I need some cold water to cool me down. Yeah...The famous Longan Water and Soya Bean Water in Petaling Street. They really saved my day.

After mission accomplished, I would like to head back to Cyberjaya before the traffic jam started. However, I needed to make myself comfortable first. Stepped into the Central Market for the 1st time and I was kinda amazed. 1st of all, TOILET~!!!

The door of the toilet looks just nice, but its lock plays no role...

The lamp in the toilet...

The toilet interior design is kind of special...

The mirrors look kinda scary for me.

Then I spent my time just walk around and really look at the heritage of Malaysia in it.

The back part of Central Market...

All kind of craft, painting, designs and culture in Malaysia are gathered under one roof.

My limited space in my stomach totally stopped me from stepping in there...

The spirit of 1 Malaysia...

Malay Street

Little India

Straits Chinese

The combination of streets for 3 major races in Malaysia...the spirit of 1 Malaysia...

Found out this in Straits Chinese, but it was closed that day. 1 day I will pay you a visit and hope it changed something in my life...haha...

Found out that I keep on going to the same place around me. Should take new steps to try to look around new places. Always been to Pasar Seni LRT station, but didn't even take the effort to take a few steps more to expose myself to Central Market. There're indeed more place that worth for a try or sight-seeing...
