Charity Walk in support of World Hunger Relief 2010

I mentioned about this event before in my previous post. To recall back, please click HERE for the participation details.

On this particular nice evening, 7 million of people gather in front of the Istana Kehakiman, Presint 3, Putrajaya for the same purpose. Not to race, not to win. But just to STEP OUT, STOP HUNGER.
Kudos to KFC, Pizza Hut, Rasamas and WFP for making it a grand one. And for the 7 million participants including me, you are GREAT!

This is the place where new record is made for the most participants in charity walk and the most donation for the event.

A big stage is set for speech-giving, performance and many more.

I am proud to say that I am one of the persons to be the movement. I thought that I would be able to jog but it's kind of weird if everyone is enjoying the walk while you are the only person who are rushing to the finishing point. So just follow the rules. Walk the movement.

We give. That's the slogan for the event. GIVE AND HELP SAVE LIVES.

We are fortunate to be born in a nation full of resources, peace without war and economically stable. Most of us don't really experience hunger. Sometimes, we would keep on complaining about the food and would make it like a headline whenever having less meal or without eating anything. Sometimes, we really need to slow down our path and think. This bless will not belong to us forever if we don't really care about it. We should appreciate it. Really appreciate it without any wasting. When we have more than we need, we give!

We are caring species...

Overall, I think this event is nice with all the friends would be gathering around doing the same good deed to flush of the sins that we created. (haha...not really that serious) But it's nice to do good deed. The last thing I would say is the RM20 of donation is worth for us as participants, maybe we even get more than what we paid. The enjoy part is we did gather around and fool around throughout the whole event. That's what we care.

Preview of "Takers"

Thanks to Nuffnang for the premiere screening of "Takers"...

For those action movie lovers, this is the movie you don't want to miss.

Here is a bit of description a.k.a brief spoiler about the movie.

TAKERS
takes you into the world of a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Those people in action are :

Idris Elba, know as G in the movie. He is the mastermind of the whole game.

Paul Walker. He never loses his guts since the movie "The Fast The Furious". His bravery is still in action.

Hayden Christensen who is always with his hat. He is still always that cool...

Chris Brown and Michael Ealy are brothers. At last only them against the world.

Known as Ghost who was caught in the last robbery. And when he is released, he wants an eye for an eye.

The 2 cops that stop the takers.

Once their mission is accomplished, they really live like a king. When things are done in a group, there's a must to have trust from every member in the crew. Sacrifice has to be done for the crew. When one of the member turn his back to the crew, everything would be in danger. That's why brotherhood is important.

In life, we give and take. There's no way that we take without any giving.

I would give a rate of 3.5/5 for the action and 4/5 for the story line/plot. Don't miss it in the big screen...

World’s Coolest Intern

I am now a final year student in one of the private university in Malaysia. Do you all know about Multimedia University (Cyberjaya)? Oh...ok...It's ok if you haven't hear of it before. That's the place where I have spent my 3 year for my tertiary education and I still have one more year to go.

During last semester, most of my classmates and coursemates went for their internships. I didn't go as I would like to make it to the final semester of my degree. When they were back for this semester, I took the opportunity to get opinions from them.

Which company pay the most salary?
Which company have the best working environment?
Which company provide the best place to learn?
Which company has the best employer?
.
.
.
.
All the questions started with a "Which"...

Besides, they also gave me me a lot of advice regarding how to be a 'good' trainee for the internship in a company.

After gathering all the feedbacks, it's my turn to really think on what I want and what I wish to gain during my internship programme. Besides, I am lucky to have the chance to visit to one of the telco company in Malaysia which its theme is YELLOW (I guess you know which company I mean right?)

This is the surroundings in the company...

I was "wow"...I personally think that the company is great and the working environment is awesome.

Recently, I noticed from Nuffnang bulletin update with the title "Be The World's Coolest Intern With Standard Chartered Bank". I was totally attracted by it.

Standard Chartered Bank is on the lookout for the ‘World’s Coolest Intern’ to join the Breeze mobile banking team in Singapore. If Tweetdeck and Facebook are the first things to greet you in the morning and the last things you say good night to, you’re exactly the type of person they’re looking for!

Curious to know what’s in store? It’s nothing short of impressive:
- A 6-month internship programme with total remuneration of SGD30,000
- Perks includes training on social media and online engagement from Standard Chartered’s esteemed partners

What I see here is OPPORTUNITY~!!!

Am I cool enough for this???

1) Once I wake up everyday, no doubt I will be opening a BOOK and start Tweeting. That's it - Facebook and Tweeter.
2) It's already for years I put myself in a safe zone - campus. It's time for me to walk out of it and accept all the challenges out there in the world. Face the reality.
3) I would like to have my intern in the coolest place in earth. Yes,~!!! Let me see it with my naked eyes. How cool is coolest?
4) Even it's cooler than anything in earth, I can adopt to changes in no time.
5) You want young blood? Is 22nd considered as young for you?
6) Money is not everything but somehow remuneration for SGD 30,000 is definitely a great motivation for me.
7) Long life learning is always my policy. So new stuff and knowledge is always something I am eager for.
8) I would always put myself in front line in everything especially about media updates. Yeah. Up to date. That's what I mean.
9) I was born with something that I can't get rid of until now - CONFIDENCE.

Last but not least...

My mum believes in me~!!!

Ittaliannies & Movie "You Again"

Thank God It's Friday~!!! I put all my stuff away and give myself a break...
1st week in my second semester of my final year is no joke a hectic one. Before starting of the new semester, I already needed to make appointment with those lecturers that I wanted them to be my supervisor for my Final year Project. Have been turned down few times, but still kept on looking. Finally got the title I wished for. Besides, to generate some extra income, I 'help' some students from other institution to do some 'homework', therefore, don't be surprise if you see I am still doing some paperwork in Malay.

The good part is everything has come to an end...erm...at least for the 1st week...

Fortunately, Nuffnang has rewarded me at the same time. I has invited for the Nuffnang Exclusive Screening-You Again. So I took this opportunity to hang out with great people in great place-E@Curve..

We had no idea what to eat for dinner until this broke the silence...
"Ei, I never try Italiannies before le..."

I maybe a fan of food, but somehow some food need a huge budget and I would never simple step in those restaurant unless it's a special occasion. I think Italiannies is in the list that I have mentioned. Somehow, it's a rewarding day for me and her. Without hesitation, we made our way to the restaurant.

When you at The Street at The Curve on Friday night, you will prefer to get a seat outside to enjoy the night at the TGIF atmosphere along the street.

Initially, both of us planned to order a set of 2 course meal respectively. It's a promotion deal. We were really lucky that there's a great waitress that served us. Upon taking our order, she suggested to us to order 1 set of 2 course meal and we can shared as the portion is very big. She just hope we can enjoy the food without wasting it. We took her advice.

Dinner for two please...

While waiting for the food, we were enjoying listening to the music as there's an event organized by the POLO VOLKSWAGEN.

The food...

Oh gosh...Luckily the waitress reminded us and gave us a helping advice. We enjoyed the meal and would be able to finish them without torturing our stomach. It's worth for the meal. Feeling satisfied after eating moderately without paying through our nose. It's really a lucky day to start off a weekend to meet the waitress. A simple thing that would cheer us up. *Thank you*

At 9.30pm, we headed to Cathay Cineplex for the movie.

You Again

Some spoiler:
- Basically it's a girls' fight movie.
- It showed how a girl's can remember things that she had been through. (Normally a bad one)
- Guys, beware of girls around u. If you do something bad to them, just get prepared to be paid back ten times of what you had done.

Basically, the movie is hilarious and many parts are funny. And it's quite a meaningful movie showing how a person who still dragged by the past. Some people would have done something they feel regret later on. Somehow, everyone deserve a second chance.

Most of the audiences clapped their hands when the movie ended. So it's up to you to figure it out whether it's worth for the movie ticket price or not.

For me, I would rate it as 3.5/5.

Nuffnang Glitterati Plus Open Meeting

For most of the bloggers, I think you all know about Nuffnang. For those who first hear about it, Nuffnang is actually Asia-Pacific’s first and leading blog advertising community. To know more about it, please click Nuffnang-Our Story. That's about it's history.

Then do you know about Glitterati?
Nuffnang Glitterati is a club exclusive Nuffnang bloggers are automatically eligible for.
This is the crucial part : An “Exclusive Nuffnanger” is a Nuffnang blogger who has NO advertisements from, mentions of, or links to other ad networks originating from SEA, or any ad networks we deem as competitors on his/her blog.
Besides, there're lots of benefit to be a Glitterati. To know more please click Nuffnang Glitterati.

Then what about Nuffnang Glitterati Plus?

I was actually blurred with it? However after attending the Open Meeting, my question marks are all gone. The Open Meeting was held on 16th October 2010 at the Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. READ MY LIPS...it's TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY!!! Taylor's college was already an history. The exact venue would be Lecture Theater 12 (LT12).

The co-founder of Nuffnang, Timothy Tiah was there too.

Ok. Come back to the Nuffnang Glitterati Plus.
It's actually an exclussive club for active Nuffnang bloggers. Other than blogging, fellow bloggers get to plan fun activities, get invited to cool events and expand their social circles.

In other words, It's a CLUB run by the bloggers on their own to carry out activities.

This is the Pro Temp Council for the Nuffnang Glitterati Plus. It's some sort like committees that listen, gather information and carry out the suggestions for the bloggers.

Sha, the President of Pro Temp Council for Nuffnang G+. He is explaining about the Glitterati and Glitterati Plus. He blogs at tehtarikmemoirs.com

So, many will think that Glitterati Plus is much better than Glitterati because of the PLUS there.
The answer is NO. Glitterati is a status that entitled to Nuffnang Bloggers meanwhile Glitterati Plus is a club. So both of them can't be compared as they are apple and orange respectively. Nuffnang Glitterati Plus is preferable for active bloggers and are keen to join the activities organized by Nuffnang.

"Don't join for the sake of joining. If it suits you, only you join. If not, you still can join and take part in events organized by Nuffnang if you are Glitterati just like before. Nothing will change." - Timothy Tiah.

After the meeting, we had a campus tour in Taylor's University.

The tour was led by this four lady from PR in Taylor's University. *Thank You*

The main entrance.

The view from the lecture theater (lakeside)

The commercial building. You see the blue colour paint on the leftside on the 3rd floor? It's an infinity pool.

View behind the lecture theater.

Pond that full of fish.

The view.

It's in the campus. I was like 'wow'.

Guess where would the student spend their time on Wednesday-Pinky Day??? They don't have to drive out. It's just walking distance in their campus.

In short, the campus is awesome. Wow!!! How I wish I could study there!!!

2nd October 2010

Thanks to NUFFNANG, I was invited for an event organized by Digi. I wasn't clear about that event when I received the call from XinXian. It's something about Go Green. I was free that time so I just said a "YES" to her.

After awhile I received an email about the event.

It's about a Go Green event with the Theme Minus "Do more by doing less"....There're will be also Pecha Kucha Sharing about Going Green by 3 speakers....

Luckily I was given a map. If not, I would get lost in somewhere I don't even recognized.

First speaker : Mr. Nithuyananthan Nesadurai, President of the Environmental Protection Society Malaysia (EPSM)

Second speaker : Ms. Yasmin Rasyid, Founder and president of EcoKnights

Third speaker : Mr. Patrick Er, Digi employee that deliver a green building within 2 years.

Digi high rank officer.

They had a small conference about Go Green sharing. They discussed from their respective role.

The sharing is means a lot and it does enlighten me a lot about Go Green.

Thanks for the tea break. The food is nice.

The place where we had our tea break. There's a waterfall at the end.

The cafeteria that prepared our food.

A man-made small pond in office. Don't step beyond the yellow line. The water is highly acidic. =.=

Later on, we were brought for a tour in the office. We were introduced about how the company apply the Go Green concept in the company. We were divided into four groups. Then there will be quizzes. Which group get the most correct answers at the fastest time will be the winner.

I was elected as the leader, that's why I was in charged of carrying the laptop.

There's a park at the hill behind of the office. That's the place where the Digi employees relax themselves and exercise.

As a result, our group won the contest.

Organic Group.

Inside the bunting bag, these are 3 bottles of body shop product an a box.

Inside the box, there are a pen, small notes, disposable 4G pendrive and a solar charger.

In Digi office (a.k.a. D' House), they really apply Go Green concept in their office.

- Only the cars that provide carpool can be parked in the parking lot in the office. Over 500 employees carpool to work.

-Only 18 printers are placed in the whole office and they are usually placed in an inconvenient place. Employees that want to print need to key in 12 digits password. It's so inconvenient that the employer would rather not print it out. It saves up to 30% of paper usage.

-Recycle bins are placed in every corner in the office instead of dustbins.

-T-bulbs are use in the office as they save energy.

-70% of electricity will be shut down during the lunch break.

-The air-conditioner temperature is always in moderate and the employees are encouraged to be clad in normal T and jean.

- No polystyrene can be used in the whole office.

I like the working environment in D' House. It applies America Google company concept.

Before we left the office, all of us were given a plant each as a token of Going Green...

**Reminder : This is not an advertorial for Digi.
